The primary objective of establishing the Advanced Research Center is to enhance the productivity and global competitiveness of Armenia’s engineering sector by promoting research and development (R&D) and the commercialization of innovative solutions.
The initiative is designed to bring together the efforts and expertise of leading private-sector companies such as Synopsys, NI-Emerson, IBM, Airbus, PMI, and others, leading research centers and universities in the United States and Europe, and Armenia’s local engineering cluster.
The Advanced Research Center is located in the High-Tech Accelerator building within Engineering City (EC), a unique platform created for engineering companies operating in the high-tech sector. Engineering City provides access to a wide range of modern equipment, research and prototyping laboratories, as well as machining and manufacturing facilities available to resident companies and other interested organizations.
It is an environment where engineering, science, and education come together to address the challenges of the 21st century.
The Advanced Research Center currently operates and continuously upgrades and expands laboratories in the following areas:
- Aerospace
- Cybersecurity
- Automotive
- Physical AI, Robotics and Smart Manufacturing
- AI and Neurotechnology
- Rapid Prototyping
One of the program’s key objectives is to contribute to the development of highly qualified professionals in some of the world’s most advanced and promising technological fields.
The Advanced Research Center is also designed to foster the creation of new research teams and organizations and facilitate joint research projects with multinational companies. These activities are expected to contribute to the creation of new jobs and strengthen Armenia’s positioning as a high-tech country and regional technology hub.
Partners such as NI-Emerson, Synopsys, PMI, and others play a key role in this process by bringing their unique expertise and providing access to cutting-edge technologies.
The initiative serves as a platform where international expertise, the scientific potential of leading global universities, and the local engineering cluster come together to advance research, innovation, and technological development.
The program also supports the creation of local startups and the development of intellectual property (IP).
